Tv-series, T-shirts & Pretty boxes!

Bare husk å handle for under 200kr for å slippe toll ;) - Oppdatert valuta + kalkulator på toll.no!
As a xmas present for myself I got the whole series of Buffy and Roswell DVD's! They arrived a week ago on the door, straight from Amazon.co.uk, so since then it's been a Buffy marathon *lol* I love sci-fi, fantasy & horror tv-series. Can't get enough! It's the theme for me in books and movies to ofcourse, and I'm a Twi-fan as everyone else, except not as obsessed as many.. ;) Angel is and will always be my first choice of vamp :) I already have the whole Angel series on dvd, as well as many other faves like: Farscape, Charmed, X-files and more. Right now I'm collecting on Futurama - funniest cartoon show ever!!! And next on the list to get is Dr.Who & Torchwood!
Last year I didn't only get cool xmas pressies for myself, Play.com is a great source for great gifts - just LOVE their T-shirts, as you can see on the top pic, that's all mine!
For the smaller presents a nice box to give them away in is a nice touch - and you can even just give the box it self, wich is a real cheap but appreciated gift! Theese are some I've made, without a template - just trial and error.. Wich I had a lot of! Did get many box tops and bottoms that didn't fit eachother, but I just made some more, and lucked out! But there are many templates to find online I'm sure, I just wanted to try and make my own:) Sometime in the near future I'm gonna get myself a scor-pal, and then I'll make tons of boxes real easy!
Main Stamps/Images: Cornish Heritage Stamp by Kim Hughes "Owen the Owl". Pixie digital stamp from Charmed Cards & Crafts. The stamp from Motivet is "Doraline med nyckelpiga (Doraline w. ladybug)", and "In a nutshell" from Penny Black.
Misc Text stamps used: Aud design 5b, Kort & Godt, Kreativ Hobby, Norsk Stempelblad - Ett Trykk.

Happy New Year 2010!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!! Hoping you've had a wonderful Christmas :) December was pretty hectic for most I'm sure, but I don't have any kids so I didn't stress much. However on newyears eve I sat with my cat Tamlin bundled up in a blanket oon my lap - for almost two hours!! He's afraid that the rockets will get him I think *lol* All panic, but safe inside the blanket :)
The last months has been heavy emotionally since my dad died, but me and my mum are coping good now, and soon we're off to Thailand for a much needed vacation! My eldest brother Pit, and my little niece Ariel are going with us. I'm taking with me lots of stampmotifs and my aquarelle paints, so I will have lots to create when I get home! January 24th is the date & three weeks in paradise :)
Our house is now too big for just me and my mum, so sometime this year we'll move into a new home, close to my uncle and his family. And he live in the house he and my mum grew up in, so she'll feel right at home!!! And the view there is gorgeous, all mountains and the sea below! My mind is already occupied finding solutions for my new scrap-room!!! Ikea will be my ruin I fear - there is so much great stuff to buy ;) And I've been browsing through the twoPeas gallery > Scrap rooms > and found awesome scraprooms like this one! *I wish*

On another note - the craft fair didn't happen for me this time, wich I'm a little bummed about, especially since the fee was paid already.. But i talked it over with my family on friday, and we didn't want to take any chances since a fair is a big crowd. Probably 2-300 people, and the swine-flu has grown the last couple of weeks here. My nephew has had to stay with us until his vaccine kicked in, 'cause his family have it. And earlier today we heard my uncle might have it too! Since me and my mum haven't gotten the vaccine, don't want any either - though there are riskfactors - we just try to be careful not to get exposed :)
Here is a card I made some time ago but haven't gotten around to putting in my blog. My favourite little guy from Doodle Factory! :)

SuperDad!
A little exited theese days, and nervous 'cause I'm going to have a stand with my cards n stuff, at Melbu Crafts Christmas-Fair on the 14th & 15th of November. This will be my first try at such an event so wish me good luck! :)Cute Card Thursdays challenge this time is #85. Primary Colours: Red, Blue & Yellow. Not the typical colors I like using, but perfect for a boy or male-type card :) And in light of fathersday, this is one for all the dads...
As a kid my dad was SuperDad, - very strong and he wrestled with crocodiles to save mum (very good with the tall tales my dad *lol*), and he loved reading the cartoon 'the Phantom', and I remember watching the Superman-movies with him when I was little - So he would have loved getting this! :)
Stamps/Image: Eat Cake Graphics 'Mr.Billingsworth' (The 'S' on his chest is drawn on). Kreativ Hobby ticket stamp 'Journaling linjer' (handwritten txt= 'Superdad'). And I also used a Magnolia stamp 'flames' under the superman-image.
Paper: Cherry Arte 'Arcade - Alien invasion'. From the BAM POP! volume 2 coll. a frame + yellow paper. The red dotted paper is from Panduro Design.
Embellishments: The image pops out with 3D-squares, wich doesn't show in the scan.

In memory of my dad :)

My dad died last month, after beeing sick for some weeks, and it's been a sad time for all in the family. Because of the altzheimers, he didn't reckognize us anymore - not even knowing who he himself was or where he was, but he knew us as someone who cared for him and that he was surrounded by warmth all the time, up until the end. The pages above is from the front and back of the pamphlet for the funeral, with psalms inside. It's much more personal to make it oneself rather than having the funeral-bureau do it, - Like with the front and the berries he always used to fill up the freezer with in the early days.. And the back with the mountains and scenery as of Lofoten where he grew up. And I wrote a poem in memory of him, in wich I mention that we will remember him as he once was - before he got ill and forgot most things, - when he was as strong as the mountaingoat, a real 'king of the forest'.. And that he now is as 'free as the birds' from one of his favourite songs, but that we'll always miss him... ♥
PS: The pamphlet was created in word and paint, and the backgrounds is from different sets of gorgeous recycled letterpaper made by the company Hippopotamus.

...thoughts on Altzheimers & my dad
Theese days I'm working on a new project - a picture book in A4 size that my dad can look at, and we can read on the backs places and things from the past to trigger the small parts of his memory that still is there... Like his mum and dad and the place he grew up :)
My dad has had the Altzheimer's disease since the early 90's, and the last months it has gotten so much worse, to the point that he doesn't know who we are, or sometimes even himself. He sees things and people who aren't there, and can't comprehend the simplest of things, like why there are people inside the tv - looking at him and talking to him... We have him still at home, although he needs help with absolutely everything now, from going to the bathroom, feeding him, dressing him, and supporting him when he walks.
It's so sad to see how quickly he's deterriating. We have to be at his side most of the day, 'cause he is like a child, getting anxious when he doesn't see us, and in need of attention all the time. Luckily he loves music, especially oldtime-dance-band music, like Vikingarna (a swedish band), so we have a cd playing constantly to calm him down, and we sit and hold his hand a lot...
It's me and my mum who are the caregivers, and it's beginning to take it's toll on both of us. And especially my mum, who has moved him into her room to keep an eye on his movements during the night. We haven't got the best of health between us - my mum have Sjøgrens. And we share other things like rheumatic pains in the joints, backpains, fibromyalgia, strong migrains (my mum didn't get so much migrains after her menopause - wich makes me long for that, although I'm 34...), Oh and some allergies too.. And I have some hormonal wackyness goings on wich is not quite fun.. (with the need to shave like a man). And no - we're not total wrecks in this family - just a little bit! *lol* ;)
My three brothers are in full-time jobs, and are busy busy busy.. But they visit and chat with dad sometimes, and my youngest brother have taken him on a short walk once a week, as well as giving him a good shave - he only complains when me or mum tries :) My dad has always been a very active man, and taking hikes in the woods and mountains has been his hobby. Now that his feet won't carry him long, and his appetite is low, and he is wobbly all over... the trips has ceased. But that makes him very agitated and restless... He get's medecine to calm down a bit, but the constant talking and confusions are very tiring.. So I'm wondering how long we can keep up.
But we want to keep him at home as long as humanly possible. Both me and my mum have worked in the healthcare system, and know firsthand how the elderly and the ones with dementia are treated. Not that they don't have the best healthcare the county can offer - it's that the county isn't able to provide the thing that's most needed - human contact. They sit there in their chair with the staff rushing past all day long, no-one is able to just sit and hold hands and talk. Too short on cash for that... hopefully more effort will be done this year with the change of the 'political regime'?
The Norwegian election for priminister and political party was last night. I didn't vote.. I voted last time - on the guy who won, but I can't see much progress. And promises have been broken.. Haven't heard any good from the other 'windbags'.. so I couldn't decide!
Anyway... wow - this was a very long rant! Glad I begun writing this in english, 'cause I think I'm skipping on the translating today! :)

Sugar & Spice & All Things Nice!
Finally it is the first challenge at the new blog Anyone for Anya? And it's a nice one - although not very 'me' in the color-department ... *lol* When I saw the theme - Sugar & Spice & All Things Nice - I immediately thought of sweets & pastel colors! And I was so in the 'mood' when I was done with my card of Anya for the challenge, that I made one more pastel card. With one of my fave mice - Maxwell!!! This card fits Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge #8 - I think! This is not after a sketch but a color challenge: eggplant, celery & kraft - But I didn't have any kraft left, so I used yucky olive instead! *lol*
Stamps/Image: The Greeting Farm - Anya stamps 'Shine'. House Mouse - Feeling Rosy (Maxwell).
Paper: Panduro hobby Scrapboooking Moments - Aqua coll. papers, & some leftover scrap-papers /cardstock.
Embellishments: Flowers unknown. MM brads. My Minds Eye - Tres Jolie - Mademoiselle 'Mother' french borders (stripes + text sticker). The star-stickers are Tatty Teddy. And Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities - Labels 4. Cats-Eye chalk inkpad used was Blue Iris, and the images are colored with DistressInk/H2O/watercolors.

Sweet Kiss!
This card is made after the sketch in VC Stamp Challenges #13. Victoria Case have some real sweet and cool designs, both digital and rubber! Here is her VC Stamp Shop. The scan of the card doesn't show very well that half of the patterned blue paper is heat embossed with clear EP. Also this time I've put away my watercolors and used LePlume markers - on plain paper! Works fine when I want a more intense coloring :)
Stamps/Image: Victoria Case - Steal a kiss. Magnolia - Tildas fåglar (Tildas birds). Inkadinkado - Bohemian flourishes.
Paper: Bazzill cardstock. K&C - Brenda Walton - mira indigo word swirl. And a green scrap-paper..
Embellishments: Prima flowers, BasicGrey brads. Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities - Labels 4. + Cats Eye Chalk ink.. And again, it doesn't show in the scan, but the image 'stands out' with 3D tape.
