Pink, Grey & Silver combo ~ Confirmation easel card

 

Jeg er veldig glad i å lage staffeli kort som dette, spesielt til anledninger som konfirmasjon, dåp og bryllup. Det blir alltid en hit hos mottakeren og gjestene på festen ~ og et slikt kort passer perfekt som dekorasjon på et bord med gaver og kort :)

Likte veldig godt fargekombinasjonen rosa, grå og sølv ~ blir nok flere kort med disse fargene sammen :) Konfirmant kortet er mitt DT bidrag hos Creative Fingers #159. I love making easel-cards, especially for events like confirmation, baptism or weddings. They always go over very well with the recipients and the people at the party ~ and is a nice decoration piece on the table where all the cards n gifts are displayed :) 

The pink, grey & silver combo is a pretty one, wich I really liked alot. Thinking of doing more cards with theese colors! I was asked to make this card for the grand-daughter of one of my mums friends. And whenever I get requests like this, I want to know about special hobbies/interests and favourite colors, and if the card shall have a money/giftcard pocket or not. For example, this girl is a bit of a tomboy, loves the color grey, silver & pink, football, singing and music. And I got a photo of her as a child, wich I edited with a pretty photomask to remove the 'noisy' background, and used as the main image. It gives it a special meaning for the giver and the recipient. (Image is censored).

Essentials/Adhesives: Bonefolder. Gluedots. Scor-pal Sookwang Double sided tape. High-Tack Double Sided Red Tape (Red Liner/Stix2/Miracle tape).
Techniques/Mediums:  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad 'hickory smoke' to distress image and papers. It doesn't show very well in the photos, but I stamped the girl stamp inside the card with the grey ink, then heat embossed with a Versamark inkpad, a heat gun tool & clear embossingpowder from Ranger.
The easel card is simply scored in half twice, once to make a folded card, then a second time on the middle of the front flap. I diecut the stand-up helpers two thirds of the way down on the second cover of the card. A formula that has worked well for all my easel-cards, either with stand-up helper dies like here, or with a barrier like flowers or other 3D elements to keep the easel in a locked position.

The cool Rust Embossing on the Tim Holtz heart die is a custom Rust mix recipe with embossing powder and technique by Rangers Wendy Vecchi, that I have tried to replicate.

..But I didn't have the exact fine detail gold that she had, and it didn't look quite right to me.. 

Good enough, yes, and very fun to do! But it wasn't as fabulous grungy and rusty as Wendy's, wich ofcourse was what I aimed for! Also, I must admit that I am just lousy at understanding how to convert measurements.. so there might be a hiccup there ;)
So If anyone has a better recipe with european measurements than my attempt here, please do let me know in the comments! :)

Så, endelig er sommern kommet til Nord-Norge også... Men huffameg, det så varmt at jeg smelter vekk! Hetebølgen fra Russland kunne jeg gjerne ønsket søringene fikk istedenfor oss.. Kroppen min tåler ikke 26+ grader (og 35 i sola!), er allerede plaget av hormonelle hetebølger, så jeg må bare beklage til alle som er hoppende glade ~ for jeg ønsker denne hetebølgen var over NÅ ;) 
Huff. Rett fra kjøleskap-tempraturer til sydenvarme.. Glad jeg har en isbit maskin og ei svær elektrisk vifte ♥

The summer has finally arrived in northern Norway, and I am not well pleased... It is too darn hot! It's a russian heatwave sweeping over us, and beeing used to refridgerator-and-freezer-temperatures so far this year (wich suits me just fine having hormonal hot flashes and issues), it is too much to take in. 26+ degrees in the shade and about 35 degrees on the sun-lit porch (not going out that way for sure)... I am melting! Could not have preservered without my big electric fan and ice-cube-making machine ♥

I often buy english scrapping / cardmaking magazines, not so much for the inspiration (as the kind of cards I make I rarely find in those magz, but in scandinavian ones of wich there used to be several, like Magnolia Stamps ♥ but now there's only Ett Trykk left that I know of) but I buy them for all the crafty goodies! The embossing folders used here I've gotten in magazines, the lovely frame one I bought just yeasterday :)

Goth Fairy Ambrosia!

Wow! Tredje bloggposten i dag, tror øynene mine er blitt firkanta og hendene mine er vel helt ødelagt :P Men det var vel verdt ei våkenatt for å få alt inn. Beklager om jeg har vært litt fraværende rundt om bloggland, har ikke mye overskudd igjen nå..

Ble veldig fornøyd med dette kortet (sjeldent at jeg får en idé og klarer å fullføre uten å endre på alt så jeg ender opp med noe helt annet enn jeg startet med), ble akkurat sånn jeg så for meg!  ♥

Phew.. this is my third blogpost today.. Ever heard that you'll get square eyes if you watch the tv or pc for too long? :P *lol* what they use to say to children to make them go out and do something active for a change.. Well I am sure my eyes gotta be square by now, feels like it anyways! Up all night, and my fingers aches.. 
But I am very satisfied with how this card turned out ♥ Made the angelic looking fairy a goth makeover, and the idea I had for the card ended up like I pictured it in my mind, so that's a first! Usually NEver ends up looking like I plan! ;)
