When life gives you lemons...

🍋 Life is sweet, if only you are weak-willed enough to enjoy it! 🍋
~ Socrates (loosely translated from the norwegian quote)
...

Here up in the northern parts of Norway it's still wet and cold, snow is still covering the land and spring seems far far away yet... A few days ago the sun shone so warmly in through my windows, I almost thought spring was upon us! I'm not the biggest 'fan' of the sun, (in fact during summer I shy away from it) but after a long dark winter I really long for some light! But alas.. it was only very brief and we've had stormy weather since..
So what to do then when longing for springtime? Create something pretty in the colors of spring ofcourse :)

I love Elisabeth Bell's gorgeous images, and I have been collecting them first in rubber then in clearstamps for many years, long before they were also in digistamps! I have followed her through all the companies she's been with ~ Sugarnellie, Whiff of Joy, Belles n whistles, Whimsy Stamps, Stampavie and Ladybug and friends.. plus probably others I forgot about :) Her artwork is always so innocent and sweet, perfect for any occasions and recipient.

If you haven't already done so, you should really sign up for her newsletters, wich comes with freebie digistamps, often very old stamp motifs long discontinued, and brought back in digital lineart for us to color and enjoy ♥ ♥ ♥

Mothers Day Rose card

Sorry to be running a bit late in getting this posted, migraines again for days, things tends to go very slow then.. or not at all.. :P

Here in Norway Mothers day has come and gone, in february, but I like keeping a box of ready made cards for every occasion. And I thought this rose would be lovely for a Mothers Day card.

This is my DT creation for this fortnights challenge #160. at Creative Fingers, and the beautiful rose motif is from our generous sponsor Morgan's ArtWorld.
As always it is an 'Anything goes theme', and you are more than welcome to join with your creations ♥

I VIKE you Very Much! 🧡

 ...

 ...

Almost every time I spot a viking stamp or set ~ I 'MUST' own it... I'm norwegian after all so I think it's superfun with viking themed cards! And they're always perfect for boys & men too.

I got this bearded viking from Avery Elle, the burly one on the inside is from MFT, and I have lots n lots of other vikings too, both in rubber & digi stamps. But I have ofcourse not used most of them yet... I'm more of a hoarder crafter and less the productive crafter ;) However I got a couple cards here on my blog with vikings by C.C.Designs Roberto's Rascals & Saturated Canary if you click here!

...
The white signo uniball pen is awesome to make dots & glass/window effects!
And the Pigma micron felt tip black markers are great for doodling,
like lines in the beard, clothes & other details, waterproof so no bleeding!

Pink, Grey & Silver combo ~ Confirmation easel card

http://creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.no/

I love making easel-cards, especially for events like confirmation, baptism or weddings. They always go over very well with the recipients and the people at the party ~ and is a nice decoration piece on the table where all the cards n gifts are displayed :)

The pink, grey & silver combo is a pretty one, wich I really liked alot. Thinking of doing more cards with theese colors! My confirmation easel-card is my DT creation for this fortnights challenge #159. at Creative Fingers. We're kindly sponsored by our Angelique this time, and as always it is an 'Anything goes theme'. You are more than welcome to join with your creations ♥

I was asked to make this card for the grand-daughter of one of my mums friends. And whenever I get requests like this, I want to know about special hobbies/interests and favourite colors, and if the card shall have a money/giftcard pocket or not. For example, this girl is a bit of a tomboy, loves the color grey, silver & pink, football, singing and music. And I got a photo of her as a child, wich I edited with a pretty photomask to remove the 'noisy' background, and used as the main image. It gives it a special meaning for the giver and the recipient. (Image is censored).

Joanna Sheen Signature Dies - Set of 5 Narrow Edger Dies set 'Classic Arch SD483', 'Bubble SD181' & 'Decorative heart SD485', and All Occasion Dies 'Set of 3 Corners #153.' (football). Marianne Design Folder DF3413 Hearts border die.

Essentials/Adhesives: Bonefolder. Gluedots. Scor-pal Sookwang Double sided tape. High-Tack Double Sided Red Tape (Red Liner/Stix2/Miracle tape).
Techniques/Mediums:  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink pad 'hickory smoke' to distress image and papers. It doesn't show very well in the photos, but I stamped the girl stamp inside the card with the grey ink, then heat embossed with a Versamark inkpad, a heat gun tool & clear embossingpowder from Ranger.
The easel card is simply scored in half twice, once to make a folded card, then a second time on the middle of the front flap. I diecut the stand-up helpers two thirds of the way down on the second cover of the card. A formula that has worked well for all my easel-cards, either with stand-up helper dies like here, or with a barrier like flowers or other 3D elements to keep the easel in a locked position.

Sending you a latte love! ☕

Hot Beverage on Google Android 9.0

A coffee themed card in vintage brown colors and awesome stamps & dies from Hero Arts ♥ I cannot say enough praise for HA monthly kits! Every month I get a kit in the mail, delivered straight to my door - and 9 times out of 10 I'm absolutely loving it! It's SO worth it to be a subscriber. If however you don't want to spend as much money at once, you could always hope that it doesn't sell out right away on the release day (many kits have done so in the past) and you could buy just the one kit.
BUT it's only Hero Arts themselves who sells theese, and they're not coming back once they're sold out.. (except for the one that's voted for as the most wanted kit of the year), so it's quite exclusive stamps &  dies. You can also try and win a kit on their blog! I'm so exited for this months kit, aquarium and tropical sea & coral reef theme :)
