Nautical Confirmation Tag! ⚓

Denne helga har mitt yngste søskenbarnet sin konfirmasjon, og den maritime tagen jeg viser frem er lagd av restepapir fra invitasjonskortene jeg lagde iløpet av Bikubens online vårscrapp i mars. Tenker jeg skal lime et gavekort bakpå eller en pengelomme med noe oppi som gave! 💗

A nautical themed tag made with the paperscraps i got from making the invitations back in march, for my cousins confirmation day wich is coming up this weekend. I'm thinking I will add a giftcard or moneyenvelope to the back as my gift to him 💗

I used a rectangle die to cut out a tag and then ran it thru my bigshot with an embossingfolder. Platina inkagold wax was then added to the raised pattern with the best tool ever made ~ my fingers!

Papers: misc. Bazzill and other cardstocks scrap bits of papers.
Embellishments: Ribbons from Kort og Godt 'konfirmasjon' satin, and unknow silver ribbon.
Tools: ProvoCraft Silent Setter tool to make the hole.
Stencils/Embossingfolders: Provocraft Cuttlebug 5x7 Embossing die Tim Holtz 'Clockworks' embossingfolder.
Dies: Fuzzy Lemon 'Lighthouse Scene' die (Craftstash UK). Lawn Fawn Cuts 'Flippy Flappy LF2686' (front stitched diecut). Creative Expressions 'Sue Wilson Australian Collection - Background Die Set' (the rectangle frame die).

Essentials/Adhesives: High-Tack adhesive tape Sookwang Scor-Pal tape &/or Red tape. Simon Says Stamps micro dot adhesive sheet.
 

Techniques/Mediums: Having lots of paperscraps from previous confirmation creations ~ i took a piece of copypaper, added a sheet of strong wide 5 inch scorpal tape adhesive, then stuck all the scrap lengths of paper diagonally. Cut it down to a tag shape and punched a hole in the top with my silentsetter. I then used Viva Decor 'platinum' inka gold wax rubbed on top of the raised dryembossed texture and diecut ~ see photos of the process above. Added a white bazzill cardstock to the back and doodled the edges with a Sakura Permapaque blue metallic marker.

Steampunk Album for my ATC's!

 

Lagde meg et flott ATC album da jeg deltok på Hobbygarasjens digitreff første helga i september. Det ble flere kort også, men de er til en annen bloggpost, dette ble jeg aller mest fornøyd med!  Steampunk er mitt favoritt tema å skape i ~ og vintage gull & alle bruntoner, det er noen av mine absolutte topp favoritt farger! ♥

I attended a cyber crop (private fb event) held by a norwegian craft store Hobbygarasjen first weekend in september ~ I made several cards, but this is the creation I am most proud of! Steampunk is my favourite theme to create in, and all of the brown & gold hues are probably my top fave colors! ♥

My ATC album is my DT inspiration for this fortnights challenge #215. at Creative Fingers, wich is sponsored with a cool prize by our DT Angelique. As always it is an 'Anything goes theme', and you are more than welcome to join with your creations :)

I started out with an album, that I think was made for those game cards that kids collect, wich is the same size as ATC's. I got a couple of those albums really cheap too, gotta love a good deal! Not sure yet what theme I will give my second album, still got a long time to fill up this one as I have only participated in 3 swaps so far.

I made use of the frame it already had on the front and added some gold glitter washi, tucking it under the sowed edges, to hide the wizard images edge. Next I measured out the papers chosen to fit inside the frame, ripping and tearing the edges. Sandpaper and distressing tools are key to getting the frayed old look I was going for! Distress oxide inks, paints, sprays, dye inks, pastes & wax ~ whole lot of mess on my desk! Fun times :) Specifics of materials used coming up in the info section at the bottom of the blogpost.

I have lots of leftover gears from an earlier mixed media project ~ my Steampunk Mushroom House DIY Glue Gun Holder! I just LOVE the rusty effect of Finnabairs pastes. Go >here< to see that blogpost tutorial :)

The album itself has a nice textured leather feel to it (faux leather) and it was very easy to add paint and waxes to, just by rubbing it on with my fingers.

Party Kittens!

For noen uker siden fikk jeg godstolen min tilbake fra reparasjon ~ endelig! Har savnet den i mange måneder, en god stund før jul knakk den sammen og trengte sveising under setet. Arvet stolen fra bestemor da hun døde i '94, og den må være av ekstremt bra kvalitet siden den har vart så lenge uten å gå istykker!  Moren min sier at bestemor fikk den helt tidlig på åttitallet!
Er kjempeglad å få den tilbake, men har ikke hatt så mye mulighet til å glede meg over det ettersom helsa uansett har vært laber..  og så har jeg mista litt scrappelysten... Håper 'mojoen' kommer snart tilbake! Stolen er iallefall på plassen sin, så får vi se om det blir noe scrapping i påska! :)

I got my good old craft chair back from repair some weeks ago, but haven't been in best health of late so I still haven't gotten into the 'groove' yet. It tends to be like that when you're not been able to craft for a long period ~ need to get my mojo back! At least my grandmas chair is in my room waiting for me now :) 

It's actually amazing it only broke down for the first time around christmas last year ~ after beeing used several times each week for more than 30 years! My mum says that grandma got the chair in the early 80's! Thats quality for ya! Don't make them like that anymore thats for sure ♥ I had to take a photo to show you the wonder chair lol :)

On this card I've used one of my oldest wood-mounted rubberstamps ~ I have so many of them that really needs to be used more! Absolutely LOVE theese fun  party cats :)

Techniques/Mediums: I used misc. Luminarte Twinkling H2o's Shimmering Watercolors and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads & markers to watercolor and distress image and papers. After the image was all dry, I added some shading with a dark brown colouring pencil.

Fairytale Christmascards!

Her er noen julekort som var utrolig enkle å kjapt å lage ~ noen ganger trenger man det også! Spesielt rett før jul ;) 

Jeg elsker å fargelegge motiver, men her har jeg bare brukt motiver klipt ut fra design papirark eller ferdig farget digitalt motiv skrevet ut på kartong. Og masse resteark og pynt fra tidligere års julekort-laging, som jeg oppbevarer i en egen folder ~ den begynner å bule i sømmene så full er den! 

Det er også alltid en bra ting å resirkulere gamle julekort, så alle disse er gamle kjedelige julekort fra ca 20 år siden som istedenfor å bli kastet blir nye med fine ark og pynt ♥

Here are some christmascards wich was incredibly quick and easy to create, as most of the cardingredients were ready to add on. Sometimes you need those too ~ especially close to christmas!

I love colouring motifs, but here I've only used pre-colored ones printed out, or motifs cutout from designerpapers. Also a whole lot of scrap papers and embellishments from earlier years of christmas cardmaking. I keep those in a big folder, wich has now started to come apart at the seams... it's that full!

It's also a good thing to recycle old christmas cards, so all of the cardblanks here are generic boring old christmascards that has been sitting in a box since 20 years ago. Better to re-use instead of throw away! All new with some pretty paper and decorations ♥
