It's a Bugs Life!

Party i en støvel! DT bidrag hos Creative Fingers #129. Startet med å male motivet i knall-farger, men tonet det litt ned med vintage distressing og har også brukt sandpapir på den tørr-embossede bakgrunnen. Det gir en flott effekt når kjernen i arket er hvitt!

My distress tools from Ranger Ink is always in use ~ Tim Holtz® Mini Ink Round Blending Tool & the Inkssentials Ink Blending Tool and Foams. I used misc. Luminarte Twinkling H2o's Shimmering Watercolors, and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads & markers to watercolor and distress image and papers. Rangers Glossy accents. Prima Marketing inc. fluid chalk ink 'rusty bucket' by Ingvild Bolme. Rangers Glossy accents & Misc. glitterglues. Sandingblock.

Jeg kjøper ofte utenlandske scrappeblader, ikke så mye for inspirasjon (det har jeg Ett Trykk til, som er mere min stil med den nordiske tilnærmingen til kortlaging!) men det er så utrolig mye flotte gratisting som følger med! Som begge embossingfolderne jeg har brukt her og dekor-stemplene ♥

I often buy english scrapping / cardmaking magazines, not so much for the inspiration (as the kind of cards I make I rarely find in those magz, but in scandinavian ones of wich there used to be several, like Magnolia Stamps ♥ but now there's only Ett Trykk left that I know of) but I buy them for all the crafty goodies! The embossing folders used here I've gotten in magazines, the lovely frame one I bought just yeasterday :)

Hello Otto Sweetie ♥ Doctor Who Tag

Har hentet inspirasjon fra Viva Las Vegas Stamps sin April utfordring for min Doctor Who tag, som du ser litt lengre ned i bloggposten, og lekt meg med noen av mine nye VLVS stempler! Brian Kesinger lager to fantastiske karakterer 'Otto & Victoria' som jo kan minne om en victoriansk timelord ledsager og en kjempesøt vennlig Dalek ;) 

Fikk en kjempeoverraskelse her om dagen! Ble tipset om at jeg måtte ta meg en tur inn på Nordsaltens Hobbyklubb sin blogg, hvor jeg fant ut at søte Maria (aka BlackLissi) har fremsnakket meg og mine kreasjoner! Klikk på banneret under for å se hva hun skriver. Tusen hjertelig takk for alle rosende ord og jeg syns det er så flott at dere har fortsatt med dette flotte tiltaket mot mobbing i scrappemiljøet ♥

Both sides of the tag

The Otto & Victoria stamps by Brian Kesinger are simply fantastic! And kind of resembles a friendly sweet little Dalek and a pretty victorian timelord companion ♥ I'm sure I have to get all VLVS rubberstamps with his art eventually :) Take a look at his amazing artwork here on DeviantArt and his etsyshoppe here.

When I first saw the VLVS inspiration pic (see below in the challenges), I thought immediately of using the tag I did when swatching my new oxides ~ I'm finding they are perfect for cloudy n chalky sky backgrounds, and there was just enough blues n green inks on it to fit the challenge. 
For the whimsical girl element I used my newest VLVS stamps, as u can see in the scrap-haul-photo in this post. I am a whovian (big fan of Doctor Who) so I ofcourse thought blue = tardis blue!

Doralines Ladybug Garden

Papirplanetens utfordring #16., for April har 'Våren' som tema, og jeg har malt dette nydelige stempeltrykket av Doraline ♥ Du kan finne henne og mange andre stempler fra Motivet hos Papirplaneten. Disse stemplene er vel ganske sjeldne å få tak i siden de ikke lengre er i drift, men jeg vet at kunstneren som lager disse figurene også har lagd stempler for the Greeting Farm :)

My card today has a spring feeling, although it is still below zero outside where I live, and snow :) The stamp is from Motivet, and it's been many years since I last used it, too many, love theese cute Doraline stamps! The artist is creating motif stamps for the Greeting Farm now only I think, since Motivet no longer makes stamps. My card is DT inspiration for PapirPlaneten, a norwegian challengeblog and craft shoppe, and the theme for April is 'Spring' :)
