I am currently in beautiful Lofoten on Hammerstad Camping with my family, and there hasn't been time to blog much this summer.. But I have some DT projects ready to show off! This weeks challenge #38. at Creative Fingers is as usual 'Anything Goes' ~ with the optional theme of 'Tickets!'.
Our sponsor Sassy Studio Designs, has been kind enough to give me this cool 'Pirate Penny' image I've had on my wishlist for a longlong time! :)
I enter my card in theese fab Challenges: [Ends on]
● Sister Act #60. ~ Anything Goes! [June 12th.]
● The Stamping Chef #32. ~ Anything Goes! (non-TSC) [June 10th.]
● As You like it #29. ~ Favourite Embossing Technique (& why!) [June 18th.]
Dry embossing ~ No mess no fuss, just roll on through your cuttlebug or the like, and it comes out awesome ~ each n every time! (almost anyways *lol*)
● Deep Ocean ch. #79. ~ Inspired by a song! [June 14th.] Actually I thought about Kaptein Sabeltann when I was making this card... It's a beloved norwegian childrens character (translates to Captain Sabertooth) and one of the songs that gets stuck in your head is 'Kaptein Sabeltann'! Check out this YouTube video.. 'Sjørøverne kommer' Hiv og hoi!!!
Digi kits: Createwings Designs digital paper from the 'Beautiful Mess' kit. PRIMA marketing inc FB freebie 'fairy rhyme tags', 'tickets and banners'. Createwings Designs - ClockFace from 'Creation C23 Bundle This Moment'. TLC Creations 'PiratesLifeBanner' digi freebie. ''.
Embellishments/Tools: Spellbinder Nestabilities 'Labels 22'. Anna Griffin 5x7 Embossing Folder and Border 'Foundry'. Poshi washi tape 'banana clock parts'. Nille Memories washitape gold stripes. Kaisercraft & Dollarama rhinstones.
Techniques: I always use my Scor-Pal to score n fold my cards. I prefer Canson Montvale aquarelle paper (200 g/m coldpressed). My distress tools from Ranger Ink is always in use! ~ Tim Holtz® Mini Ink Round Blending Tool & the Inkssentials Ink Blending Tool and Foams. I used misc. Luminarte Twinkling H2o's Shimmering Watercolors, and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads & markers to watercolor and distress image and papers.
I got a question on how to get this kind of background: you cover up the image with a postit, then after distressing around it, use the 'flicking-water-with-your-fingers' technique - or a spray/mister. I had some ink on my craftsheet wich I picked up droplets of and flicked on it as well. You can watch many 'spritz & flick' technique videos on youtube, this is one about 6+min. in: Ranger Inks video with Tim Holtz also here with Dixie Cravens Basic blending techniques n flickin water spots - The results are pretty cool!
Such a nice card. Love the colouring of the stamp.
