Miss Cupcake Gift-box & beeing Thrifty!

Jeg fikk dette kjempesøte digi-stemplet for mitt DT-bidrag, og dekorerte ei helt enkel eske jeg fant på salg på Notabene, for å romme en liten gave til min enda søtere niese! ♥

My DT creation for the Creative Fingers Challenge blog ~ This time around our sponsor is ArtByMiran, and I got this sweet cupcake-girl to color up! If you want to join us in Challenge #24, it's Anything Goes with an optional twist of 'Anything But A Card'! 


I've altered a giftbox I found on sale in the local bookstore. Dressed it with an owl fabric I found to be very cute, got five metres of for about 4$! And I actually stitched the sides of the box ~ wich ended up really ugly looking and my fingers hurt like... *bleep*.. But it will make a nice present for my sweet niece who's been asking me for a secret box to hold her keepsakes in ♥ and to give her the Hits for kids CD I also found on sale! 
 
Don't u just love shopping AFTER the holidays? Everything is so much cheaper, calmer and stressfree ~ I've even stocked up on lots of birthday and friend gifts to give away during the year, alot of this years christmas pressies too! 
I also swipe a good deal of free gift wrapping papers after shopping in a store ~ even if I just buy something for meself, so I don't have to buy expensive paper-rolls to wrap in when a gift is due! *Hush hush*... 
So that's my Top tip for today ~ be thrifty and save yourself some time and money.. so that you can buy more sweet crafty stuff for yourself! 
.. And to please find out how to sow before stitching away on your project ;) Top Tip has a great list ~ I really wish I'd printed out and looked at while before I started sowing *lol* Been several years since I last tried :)

Stamps/Images: ArtByMiran digistamp 'Miss Cupcake'. Scrap Orchard Collab 'Our Life' owl digi element from Snips and Snails Designs, and SO Collab 'Winter Woodland' journaling digi element from Bella Gypsy Designs.
Papers: Canson Watercoloring paper, and misc scrap pieces of paper. (Keen eyes might recognize the stripey paper as the backingsheet behind the magnolia stamps when u buy them! Nothing nice gets wasted here!).
Embellishments/Tools: the BowEasy tool. Notabene cardboard gift box, adhesive pearls. JYSK Owl fabric. Marianne Designs Creatables 'Frame LR0293'. Spellbinder Nestabilities 'Petite Ovals Large'. Nille Memories washi tape, satin ribbon. Lace unknown. Dymo tape machine. I used Twinkling H2o's and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads n markers to watercolor and distress image and papers.
