Stampotique Baby Cakes!

The Challenge #43 at Charisma Cardz is - No Backing Papers, so here the image is in focus, and I do love this cutie stamp! Stampotique has the coolest goth inspired stamps - and I have two more girls, this one I've sold - wich I kinda regret now...
I may have to buy it again!

G is for Green...

Having Green as the main color is this weeks challenge at ABC - I'm a little low on green patterned papers, so pure cardstock this time - but green it is!

Paper: Misc bazzill cardstock.

I love all that's magical - Fairies, pixies, dragons & Fantasy! It shows in my stampcollection, 'cause my Visa pops up instantly when I see something whimsical & magic in new stamps :)
And theese cuties is created by Valarie Wade and come from

Riley the moose cards

I haven't had much time to go online during the last months, but i've been crafting some - so there will be lots of cards popping up on my blog from now on :)

Here is another Riley card - he's a cute little character isn't he? The shop u can get him at is Hanna Stamps! I've gotten tons of new stamps, and i can't wait to try them all out, now that I have lots of time to play :)

Stamps/Image: Hanna Stamps - Riley the moose - Coffee riley. Text stamp from Kreativ Hobby.
Paper: Leftover scrap-papers, Basic grey & Sassafraslass, and cardstock.
Embellishments: My Minds Eye - Tres Jolie - Ooh la la 'Sunshine' french borders (flowers sticker). I've colored the stamp-motifs with LePlume pens this time.

In memory of my dad :)

My dad died last month, after beeing sick for some weeks, and it's been a sad time for all in the family. Because of the altzheimers, he didn't reckognize us anymore - not even knowing who he himself was or where he was, but he knew us as someone who cared for him and that he was surrounded by warmth all the time, up until the end. The pages above is from the front and back of the pamphlet for the funeral, with psalms inside. It's much more personal to make it oneself rather than having the funeral-bureau do it, - Like with the front and the berries he always used to fill up the freezer with in the early days.. And the back with the mountains and scenery as of Lofoten where he grew up. And I wrote a poem in memory of him, in wich I mention that we will remember him as he once was - before he got ill and forgot most things, - when he was as strong as the mountaingoat, a real 'king of the forest'.. And that he now is as 'free as the birds' from one of his favourite songs, but that we'll always miss him... ♥

PS: The pamphlet was created in word and paint, and the backgrounds is from different sets of gorgeous recycled letterpaper made by the company Hippopotamus.

...thoughts on Altzheimers & my dad

To all my internet buddies.. I haven't been able to craft or blog as much, and as often as I want to - or to go to my fave communities and chat with fellow scrappers. My health haven't been the best of late, and also because my dear old dad is taking up a lot of time during the day...

Theese days I'm working on a new project - a picture book in A4 size that my dad can look at, and we can read on the backs places and things from the past to trigger the small parts of his memory that still is there... Like his mum and dad and the place he grew up :)
My dad has had the Altzheimer's disease since the early 90's, and the last months it has gotten so much worse, to the point that he doesn't know who we are, or sometimes even himself. He sees things and people who aren't there, and can't comprehend the simplest of things, like why there are people inside the tv - looking at him and talking to him...

We have him still at home, although he needs help with absolutely everything now, from going to the bathroom, feeding him, dressing him, and supporting him when he walks.

It's so sad to see how quickly he's deterriating. We have to be at his side most of the day, 'cause he is like a child, getting anxious when he doesn't see us, and in need of attention all the time. Luckily he loves music, especially oldtime-dance-band music, like Vikingarna (a swedish band), so we have a cd playing constantly to calm him down, and we sit and hold his hand a lot...

It's me and my mum who are the caregivers, and it's beginning to take it's toll on both of us. And especially my mum, who has moved him into her room to keep an eye on his movements during the night. We haven't got the best of health between us - my mum have Sjøgrens. And we share other things like rheumatic pains in the joints, backpains, fibromyalgia, strong migrains (my mum didn't get so much migrains after her menopause - wich makes me long for that, although I'm 34...), Oh and some allergies too.. And I have some hormonal wackyness goings on wich is not quite fun.. (with the need to shave like a man). And no - we're not total wrecks in this family - just a little bit! *lol* ;)

My three brothers are in full-time jobs, and are busy busy busy.. But they visit and chat with dad sometimes, and my youngest brother have taken him on a short walk once a week, as well as giving him a good shave - he only complains when me or mum tries :) My dad has always been a very active man, and taking hikes in the woods and mountains has been his hobby. Now that his feet won't carry him long, and his appetite is low, and he is wobbly all over... the trips has ceased. But that makes him very agitated and restless... He get's medecine to calm down a bit, but the constant talking and confusions are very tiring.. So I'm wondering how long we can keep up.
But we want to keep him at home as long as humanly possible. Both me and my mum have worked in the healthcare system, and know firsthand how the elderly and the ones with dementia are treated. Not that they don't have the best healthcare the county can offer - it's that the county isn't able to provide the thing that's most needed - human contact. They sit there in their chair with the staff rushing past all day long, no-one is able to just sit and hold hands and talk. Too short on cash for that... hopefully more effort will be done this year with the change of the 'political regime'?

The Norwegian election for priminister and political party was last night. I didn't vote.. I voted last time - on the guy who won, but I can't see much progress. And promises have been broken.. Haven't heard any good from the other 'windbags'.. so I couldn't decide!
Anyway... wow - this was a very long rant! Glad I begun writing this in english, 'cause I think I'm skipping on the translating today! :)

Sugarnellies Dress-Up Maggie!

I love this cute stamp - reminds me of when we were kids and dressed up in moms clothes :) This is made after the Kathy's sketch in The Sugar Bowl challenge #18.

Stamps/Image: Sugarnellie - Dress-Up Maggie, Toves Design - Kosemoseklem (hugs&cuddles for u my friend)
Paper: Leftover scrap-papers, and bazzill cardstock. The notepaper is from a Making Memories spiral journaling book - Love notes.
Embellishments: Flower unknown. QK - buttons RS-0139, wich I've glazed with Ranger's Glossy accents - a great tool! :)

Sugar & Spice & All Things Nice!

:) Finally it is the first challenge at the new blog Anyone for Anya? And it's a nice one - although not very 'me' in the color-department ... *lol* When I saw the theme - Sugar & Spice & All Things Nice - I immediately thought of sweets & pastel colors!

And I was so in the 'mood' when I was done with my card of Anya for the challenge, that I made one more pastel card. With one of my fave mice - Maxwell!!! This card fits Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge #8 - I think! This is not after a sketch but a color challenge: eggplant, celery & kraft - But I didn't have any kraft left, so I used yucky olive instead! *lol* Stamps/Image: The Greeting Farm - Anya stamps 'Shine'. House Mouse - Feeling Rosy (Maxwell).
Paper: Panduro hobby Scrapboooking Moments - Aqua coll. papers, & some leftover scrap-papers /cardstock.
Embellishments: Flowers unknown. MM brads. My Minds Eye - Tres Jolie - Mademoiselle 'Mother' french borders (stripes + text sticker). The star-stickers are Tatty Teddy. And Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities - Labels 4. Cats-Eye chalk inkpad used was Blue Iris, and the images are colored with DistressInk/H2O/watercolors.

Sweet Kiss!

This card is made after the sketch in VC Stamp Challenges #13. Victoria Case have some real sweet and cool designs, both digital and rubber! Here is her VC Stamp Shop.

The scan of the card doesn't show very well that half of the patterned blue paper is heat embossed with clear EP. Also this time I've put away my watercolors and used LePlume markers - on plain paper! Works fine when I want a more intense coloring :)

Stamps/Image: Victoria Case - Steal a kiss. Magnolia - Tildas fåglar (Tildas birds). Inkadinkado - Bohemian flourishes.
Paper: Bazzill cardstock. K&C - Brenda Walton - mira indigo word swirl. And a green scrap-paper..
Embellishments: Prima flowers, BasicGrey brads. Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities - Labels 4. + Cats Eye Chalk ink.. And again, it doesn't show in the scan, but the image 'stands out' with 3D tape.

Should have known to add a longer deadline, not many has signed up to get theese goodies *lol* ;) But the more chances for the ones who did! Zero Embellishments!

This week Z is for Zero Embellishments on the ABC challenge blog. That's just as challenging, if not more, than my previous post!!! But here it is, no flowers, no ribbons, nothing but ink and paper :)

Stamps/Image: Papilio - Ole's lille lam (Oles little lamb) and I've used a text stamp from Stempelhobby/Kin Flicks (no longer in business) plate 'Venn 1' by Ksenia - and it reads: 'To a good friend'.
Paper: Bazzill cardstocks, K&Company - Blue Awning blue swirl floral.
Embellishments: None!
But I've used lots of ink, Spellbinder Nestabilities - Oval classic Scallop Large S4111, and an EK success corner puncher.

The Norwegian challengeblog Sukkersött, have a very difficult anniversary-challenge #2... To only use maximum: 2 patterned papers, 2 stamped images, and 2 embellies... It sounds easy enough, and I must say I struggled with this one, but I ended up with a very minimalistic card in the end. The orchid-card is the one I'm entering in the challenge. :)

I also made this, an Orangutang card wich reads something like: If you had been here, you would get a real bear-hug!
Stamps/Image: The photos of the orchid and orangutang are taken by me at the Palomitos Park/Zoo on Gran Canaria. Texts are a rubon from Ett Trykk, & Scrapmagasinet plate 27B.
Paper: Bazzill cardstocks, some scrap-paper, and Basic Grey - Stella Ruby 'Shopping with Dorothy'.
Embellishments: Butterflies from 'A-stickers - Accessorize/Monsoon'. Brads by BasicGrey. The die used on the orchid, is Spellbinder Nestabilities - Petite Scalloped Circle Large S4115. I've also used sandpaper.

Sukkersött #3

Utfordring #3.

The Norwegian challengeblog Sukkersött, who has their 1-year Anniversary, have set a great challenge #3. To make your finest card, in your own style, or with your latest fave scrap-items.. And I think this represent my style & passion for my magnolia-swirly-stamp, nestabilities, and prima-flowers ;)

Stamps/Image: Kreativ Hobby - Bestemor Troll. Magnolia - BakgrundsSwirl Bröllup. The txt is from Scrapmagasinet plate 27B (congratulations on your day).
Paper: Bazzill cardstock, and Panduro kraft paper. The green and burgundy papers from Basic Grey 6x6 'Infuse' & 'Sugared' paperpads.
Embellishments: The flower is from Prima. The dies used are Spellbinder Nestabilities - Curved Rectangles S5006, QuicKutz - RS-0400 heart mini (with bronze glimmermist on!), and I think it's the Studio alphabet-numbers I used :)

Time for a change ~ BlogCandy!

This Candy is now Closed!!!
I'll announce the three winners shortly in a new entry :)
---------------------------------------
...Got a little bored with my blog lately, so I've refreshed my blog header and background - and I'm no digital-wiz, so that took some doing! - U like??
..I used the free version of 'Photofiltre' - a great program wich I'm quite addicted to, my trusty epson scanner, and I would be lost without old 'Paint' in windows as well :)
..And I thought some candy would be nice!!!

The PopQuiz: Guess how long (hours/minutes) it took me to make the background & header, and to get it up & running on the blog??? If many has the same correct answer, there will be random-picking between them (random.org)

If you want you can add me to your candybar or mention my candy on your blog.
You are free to follow my blog too - but only if you want to :) ...I've finally added the follow me-gadget, after some consideration, the blog is already way too packed with gizmos of many kinds *lol*

To celebrate the soon to be 5000 hits on my blog, I will pick one lucky person who will get the candy on this photo!!! :) The two stamps are new & unmounted, and made by Kreativ Hobby in Norway: Trollkids/Trollunger & Knight/Ridder.

And there is even more Candy! I'll pick out two lucky girls (or guys) who each gets a sweet surprise of:
..30 STAMP-MOTIFS..
(= permanent stamped images on aquarelle paper - but if you want regular paper instead, I can fix that too)

So just answer me the popquiz, and there are three chances u could win some candy!!!
...The blogcandy's will run until the 9th of August - 9:00PM / 21:00 my time (check the clock on my blog!) And I will ship all over the world :)

PS: The hellokitty-image is only a cute candy-pic, has nothing to do with the blogcandys! What kind of stamp-motifs is a Secret, i only say - they are sweet ;)

Angus the Love Muffin!

Håper jeg vinner denne challengen (as if..), for da får jeg dem alle!
The last sketch-challenge at SugarBowl was great! #15 by Gayle. But I'm not a wiz at making bows... and the gluedots was not so much in the bow, than sticking to my fingers & table afterwards! *lol*

;) *lol*

A couple of summer cards to cheer me up when the weather here is dreary and wet & make my joints ache! ;) For the challenge at A spoon full of sugar #58 - Summer. I *love* theese Fairy Song Art stamps from Susana's Custom Art & Card Design.
