My DT card for this fortnights challenge #149. at Creative Fingers has a beautiful oldfashioned (medieval princess?) motif from our generous sponsor LeAnn's World 101.

I was inspired by this Panduro paper with a background that has a vintage  carnivale / circus motif, and I painted 'Raina' in the same colors. I absolutely love using pretty papers as cardbases, and coordinate watercolors for the motifs, it makes creating a card so much easier! .. Usually when I color a motif and then go looking for papers to fit, I end up spending an hour just to find the 'perfect' match ;)

As always Creative Fingers is having an 'Anything goes theme', and you are more than welcome to join with your creations ♥
..And please check out my blogcandy & consider joining if u haven't already!

The very hungry caterpillar

😎 Happy Summer! ⛅

I absolutely LOVE this cute little caterpillar from Goebie, it reminds me of the childrensbook 'The very hungry caterpillar' wich I read SO many times when I learnt how to read,  and then later I read it to my younger brothers ♥ (see the Animated video of the book on youtube)

🍃 🐛 🍃 🍏 🍃 🐛 🍃

My DT inspiration card is a couple days late as I've been having a lot of aches n pains lately.. Especially in my hands, wich are all chapped and sore, and I haven't been able to craft or much of anything.. :( I'm taking light therapy for the psoriasis on my hands at the hospital, but that's two hours drive back n forth, wich only worsens my muscle n backpains.  Hopefully I won't have to do as many treatments as last year before I see results. Would love to be able to spend more time in the craftroom this summer :)

Creative Fingers generous sponsor for challenge #148. is Goebie Design, and as always it is an 'Anything goes theme', and you are more than welcome to join with your creations ♥

I made some fun marbled backgrounds a while back, and thought the green one was a perfect match for my little caterpillar! I had added nailpolish (cheap ones) to a tub of water, swirled it with a toothpick and quickly add the pattern to the paper. I find placing the paper on top of the water rather than letting it pass down through the surface to the length of the tub / submerging it is a better way to get a good pattern. The red one was with submerging it, so next I just carefully layed it on the water and picked it up without getting it under the surface. I do reccomend working outside or with windows open, cause nailpolish really stinks! And I also let them dry off for many hours, and then days to get rid of the smell.. You can find heaps of tutorials on youtube for Nail Polish Marble arts.

And before you leave, have you checked out my awesome Blogcandy yet? :)

Christmas card in June!

A christmas card in the beginning of June? Well, why not.. Where I live (northern Norway) it's closer to winter temperatures rather than summer, and I also have several christmas card waiting to be blogged, so bring on the chill! Lol :)

I believe I've mentioned it before ~ Penny Black was the first stamp company I fell in love with for over 10+ years ago, and that started my stamp hoarding with Cuddly kittens, mice and hedgehogs ♥
🦔 Like this old card of mine from 2007! 👉
Back then there were no clearstamps, they came only on wood mount blocks, later came cling and clearstamps. And many crafters begun de-mounting and throw away the wood-blocks to save space.. I got too much nostalgic feelings for them (and stamp-hoarding-tendencies) too rid of them, for now anyways ♥
The cute caroling mice motif on the christmas card is from a Penny Black clearstamp set named 'Christmas Critters', and if you should want to see more PB stamp creations by me you can click *here* to go to all those I have blogged before.
Oh, and did u see I have an awesome new Blogcandy?

Techniques/Mediums:  I used misc. Luminarte Twinkling H2o's Shimmering Watercolors, and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads & markers to watercolor and distress image and papers. Versamark inkpad, a heat gun tool & clear embossingpowder. I first heat embossed the mice, stamped off on postit note, fussycut them out and used as masks. Also used a scrap paper I cut in a wavy edge as a mask for snowdrifts and a circle for the halo of the lantern. After stamping the sentiment I misted lightly over the whole image with a mica + water spray. The star is from a Panduro stencil, made with Inka Gold platinum silver paste I think.

Sweet Queen Bee

Is it June already? Where did the month of May go? I feel we just passed April.. Summer is here, well, some days! Some days it feels like winter still, with under 5 celsius ;) Poor little hornets, bees and all the cute fuzzy bumblebees! They must be so dazed and confused, thinking summer was here when we had this surge of high tropical temperatures, and then its back to winter almost!
So when you see a little one struggling on your veranda, be kind and give it sugarwater and a banana peel if u got one :) They are so vitally important to our nature eco system so we have to help them out when we can! ♥ ♥ ♥

The pretty QueenBee on my card is by Scrappers Delights, who by the way are running an awesome sale right now, as they're transitioning into a new store in july. They're also retiring alot of images, so there's a last chance 'retiring' section as well.

Here is a link I found to a very interesting youtube video in a fun cartoon by Kurzgesagt ~ In a Nutshell: The Death Of Bees Explained ~ Parasites, Poison and Humans.
I'm sure you will enjoy their channel as they have loads of information share and explained in a very fun way. Show your kids! :)

There are SO many more youtube videos on the topic of bees that's dissapearing.. and why bees are so important to us, but I wanted to share this one by Animalogic on this post so that you can watch it below, it's amazing!

Stamps/Images: Scrappers Delights 'Bee Digi 7' digistamp. Hero Arts 'MMH July 2017 Garden kit' clearstamps (bee trail and text). All Night Media 'Dragonfly' rubberstamp.
Papers: I prefer Canson Montvale aquarelle paper (200 g/m coldpressed) for my motifs. Bazzill black cardstock for base. Plain white cardstock.

Embellishments: Panduro Hobby 'Vintage news' Washitape.

Tools: I always use my Scor-Pal to score n fold my cards. My distress tools from Ranger Ink is always in use ~ Tim Holtz® Mini Ink Round Blending Tool & the Inkssentials Ink Blending Tool and Foams. Stampers Anonymous 'Mini Stencil Set 8, stencil #5.' by Tim Holtz.
Dies: Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Thinlits Dies 'Mixed Media 2'. Marianne Design Emb.folder & Dieset (hexagons) 'DF3404 - Chickenwire'.
Essentials/Adhesives: 3D foam/mosegummi. Scor-Pal Scor-Tape Double Sided Adhesive, strong high tack (5 inch x 27yards wich is amazing value at Blitsy). Rangers Glossy accents. Indigoblu IndigoBlu 'Megaflake Chocolate Box' gildingflakes.

Techniques/Mediums: I used misc. Luminarte Twinkling H2o's Shimmering Watercolors, and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads & Oxide inks to watercolor and distress image and papers. I used plain white cardstocks to smoosh inks on, and stencil on, to make my own papers. To heat emboss the text, I used a Versamark inkpad, a heat gun tool & black Hero Arts embossingpowder.
The most fun technique is also the most messy! I rubbed gilding flakes onto strong adhesive tape, and bits went flying everywhere!  You can see the similar process on this blogpost ~ Cupcake Kitten ~ exept this one is much easier as I just covered the back of my cardfront with adhesive tape, directly behind the openings of the intricate swirly Mixed Media diecut. And then used a scrubberfoam scoochytool (also from a IndigoBlu kit) to rub off any access flakes. The result always amazes me :)
